Who Is This?

From the day we met -
and looked into each other’s eyes;

             *the instant attraction *
             *the wonder *
             *the questions*

(Who is this -
who makes me feel this way -
who takes my breath away?)

             *the happiness*
             *the amazement*
             *the bewilderment*

(What does he see in me -
with those sparkling, beautiful eyes?)

             *the wanting*
             *the yearning*
             *the reaching out*
                    
(I want to learn about him -
to see what makes this person
unique among the many I have met.)
                
He gives me great pleasure
and fills me with joy.
        
His touch makes me feel

             *so wanted*
             *so beautiful*
             *so secure*

His tenderness and caring
almost overwhelm me.

             *his ecstasy*

at the thought
of having a child

             *together*

fills me with
love and happiness
such as I have never
known before.

             *The Realization*

               THIS IS IT!

Everything I’ve been waiting for,
the companionship and love
I’ve been waiting for so long.
